There are many scholarships available for students entering their first year at McMaster. For full information, please see the Office of Student Financial Aid & Scholarships. McMaster University Entrance Awards
*McMaster Entrance Awards are reviewed annually and are subject to change. For your information, we have listed the current ranges and values. Please refer to the sfas.mcmaster.ca webpage for the most up-to-date information. Who is eligible for these scholarships? McMaster entrance awards are only available to students qualifying for admission to Level 1 of a first baccalaureate degree in a full-load program in the Fall / Winter session. Students must apply for admission not more than two years after completion of secondary school studies and must not have previous post-secondary experience. Students completing their high school credentials in Canada or Canadian citizens/Permanent Residents completing high school outside of Canada are eligible for these awards provided they meet the academic criteria. This includes students enrolled in CEGEP (Collège d'enseignement général et professionnel) and IB (International Baccalaureate) if they achieve comparable standing in their programs. Please consult the Undergraduate Calendar for more details on awards terms and conditions. Other Entrance Awards In addition to these entrance scholarships, McMaster Science offers many entrance prizes to students who have participated in competitions at our Engineering & Science Olympics held each fall and at other events such as the Bay Area Science And Engineering Fair. Five scholarships, valued at $1,000 each, are available to outstanding Shad Valley alumni who are entering their first year of an undergraduate degree program in the Faculty of Science, directly from high school. Selection will be based on academic acheivement (a minimum admission average of 88% is required). These scholarships are in addition to any other scholarships that the student may reveive from the Faculty of Science or McMaster University.
