Our labotarory is
interested in the properties of biological membranes and how
they relate to membrane function. These studies range from investigating
the molecular details of the interactions of proteins and peptides
with membranes which result in alteration of function, to
studies of the organization of viral membranes. Currently,
areas of research include the mechanism of fusion of enveloped
viruses with cells, the modulation of protein activity by membrane
lipids, the role of membranes in signal transduction and the
mechanism of action of antimicrobial peptides. For more
