Biology Undergraduate Symposium (BUS) 2007
The Biology Undergraduate Symposium (BUS) is the capstone experience for Senior Thesis and Project students who have completed their year of scientific research with professors in the Biology Department and other departments at McMaster University. The first BUS was held in April 2005 with 77 students participating. This year, BUS 2007 was held on Monday April 9th and, due to the double cohort, had the highest participation to date with 137 students!
Thanks to the commitment and mentorship of the research supervisors and co-supervisors, this was another successful BUS and we can all be proud of this year's graduating class. Congratulations to all the students who persevered and delivered exceptionally professional and high-calibre oral and poster presentations! Way to go!
Our most heartfelt thanks are extended to Ms. Kathy McIntosh who fielded many student inquiries while working patiently and diligently alongside the new Course Coordinator, Dr. Juliet Daniel, to plan such a highly organized, professional and fascinating symposium. We also wish to thank our judges and session chairs, without whom BUS would not have been such a successful event.
We eagerly anticipate BUS 2008 and the presentation of the amazing research projects in which our students participate!
