The 16th (2014)  Annual Toronto Brain Bee

The 16th Annual Toronto Brain Bee competiion will take place at the University of Toronto from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Friday March 28, 2014 at the Lash Miller Chemical Laboratories, 80 St. George Street (Room 159, Amphitheatre)

Contestants must register for the event  no later than March 17, 2014 at:  http://www.neuroscience.utoronto.ca/events/2014brainbee.htm

There will be no on-site registration.

 

The 15th (2013)  Annual Toronto Brain Bee

The winners were:

First place: Sophia Ly

 Second place: Mithunan Ravindran

 Third place:  Olivia Ly

All 3 are from University of Toronto Schools

The 14th (2012)  Annual Toronto Brain Bee

The 14th Annual Toronto Brain Bee competition took place at the Medical Sciences Building, on March 30, 2012. There were a record 77 students from 16 high schools in the Toronto area who participated in the competition. Between the first and second rounds of questions, the students visited the Anatomy museum at the Division of Anatomy, watched the video of 2011 National Brain Bee event, and listened to short research presentations from 3 graduate students.

Following three rounds of questions the top three winners were:

First place: David Kim from Sinclair Secondary School, Whitby

Second place; Jessica Zung from University of Toronto Schools

Third place: Sophia Ly from University of Toronto Schools

The 2012 Brain Bee competition  was sponsored by the University of Toronto Neuroscience Program, the Department of Physiology and the Firefly Foundation.

 

The 13th Annual Toronto Brain Bee

The 13th Annual Toronto Brain Bee competition took place at the Medical Sciences Building, on March 25, 2011. There were a record 62 students from 16 high schools in the Toronto area who participated in the competition. Between the first and second rounds of questions, the students visited the Anatomy museum at the Division of Anatomy, watched the video of 2010 National Brain Bee event, and listened to short research presentations from five graduate students.

Following three rounds of questions the top three winners were:

First place: Soohyun Park from University of Toronto Schools

Second place; Jessica Zung from University of Toronto Schools

Third place: David Kim from Sinclair Secondary School
