Graduate Studies at McMaster
The School of Geography and Earth Sciences(view

opportunities to work with world renowned researchers.
The school has world class facilities, a multidisciplinary research
environment offering field, laboratory and modeling opportunities,
and a highly active graduate student
community. The School houses science and social science faculty
offering MA, MSc and PhD Degrees and promotes a culture of research
excellence and scholarly achievement. McMaster University also has
direct entry to the PhD program from the undergraduate degree for
students with the appropriate requirements.
Students interested in pursuing graduate studies in the school are
encouraged to directly contact possible graduate faculty supervisors
prior to applying to the school.

We will be moving to an e-thesis model for final submission of Ph.D. and Masters level theses as of May 1, 2011. Students defending from that point onward will be expected to file their final thesis via Digital Commons on the library website.

There are no formal fields of specialization within the Master degrees,
though naturally most of the students tend to follow studies that
reflect the PhD fields.
