Research Interests

Quaternary dating using electron spin resonance, uranium-series, thermoluminescence and optically-stimulated luminescence methods. Applications include dating fault gouge and palaeoclimate studies by dating glacial/interglacial deposits. Further applications include burnt flint, sediment and tooth enamel from archaeological sites (mainly in Europe, Africa and Asia). Radiation defects in quartz from Phanerozoic igneous, metamorphic and sedimentary rocks. Applications include geothermometry and long-range geochronology.
