iSci is designed to create an intellectual community of between 50 and 60 young scientists per year.

Level I- ISCI 1A24

  • Students will be taught by interdisciplinary ‘teams’ of faculty, in an innovative 24-unit course that will involve fully integrated delivery of content across all science disciplines, with a particularly strong foundation in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • Students will learn in a variety of environments including formal lectures, tutorials, laboratories, field settings and informal working groups.
  • Integration of discipline content will occur partly through ‘thematic modules’ (such as ‘Mission to Mars’ or ‘Cancer: The 21st Century Pandemic’) that emphasize the linkages between discipline areas and their relevance to modern societal issues.
  • This Level I course will allow the development of exciting new models for the teaching, learning and evaluation of scientific knowledge and skills in an undergraduate program.
