We are very pleased to announce that the 6th annual All Science Challenge held on Friday May 28th, 2010 was a great success. This year 55 teams participated in the friendly and fun competition from 12 different schools in the Hamilton area. Over 260 grade 6-8 students participated in the event as contestants and spectators. Moreover, approximately 80 undergraduate and graduate McMaster University students helped to ensure that the event ran smoothly. The contestants went through three rounds of fun competition, which also included a hands-on design challenge sponsered by 3M. They enjoyed a science funhouse jam-packed with hands-on activities and cotton candy! After the three rounds, the top ten teams with the most points competed against each other in the elimination round. The elimination round was judged by eight McMaster faculty with expertise in the Student Handbook subjects:

Physics and Astronomy: Dr. Alison Sills

Earth & Environmental Sciences: Dr. Gloria Lopez
Math: Dr. Bartos Protasz

After a very exciting elimination round and a "never-ending" tie-breaker, the All Science Challenge Champions of 2010 were named: PERPETUAL MOTION SQUAD!
