How to Apply

Applications to begin a graduate program in Health Physics or Radiation Sciences in September are due at the end of February of the same year. Click here for information on how to apply to Medical Physics or Medical Radiation Sciences.

Courses

Depending on the degree, a certain number of "half courses" at the 700 level are required. All courses offered by the department are considered to be "half courses". Click here for the specific course requirements of each graduate degree.

Student Requirements

In addition to the requirements necessary to complete their respective degree, students must also complete the following obligations:

Masters:

  • Must complete SGS 101 once before graduation
  • Must complete SGS 201 in first term after registration
  • Present at Journal Club once a year
  • Present Work in Progress at departmental symposium during second year (thesis MSc)
  • Have at least one Committee meeting before defending thesis

PhD:

  • Must complete SGS 101 once before graduation
  • Must complete SGS 201 in first term after registration
  • Present at Journal Club in Year 1 and Year 3 of program
  • Present Work in Progress at departmental symposium in Year 2 and Year 4 of program
  • Have a Committee Meeting once every year
  • Complete a Comprehensive Exam prior to completing second year in program
