Memorial University of Newfoundland
The BBCS/SCCC conference for 2004 will be heldat the Health Sciences Centre on the campus of Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) starting on the afternoon of Saturday, June 12th and ending the afternoon of Monday, June 14th.

Three poster sessions will be held: late Saturday afternoon, Sunday morning and Monday morning.

Talk sessions will be held throughout the day on Sunday and Monday.

Not to be missed are two events comprising the Hebbfest to celebrate the centenary of Donald Hebb’s birth.
  • The first event is an invited talk on Saturday evening by Tim Bliss (National Institute for Medical Research, Mill Hill, London, UK) who studied at McGill in the 1960s and went on to discover long-term potentiation (LTP) in the hippocampus in collaboration with Terje Lømo (Bliss & Lømo, 1973). The title of his talk will be "From cell A to cell B: a physiological view of the Hebb synapse".
  • Then on Sunday evening there will be a “Donald Hebb 100th Birthday Symposium” organized by Richard Brown (Dalhousie University). Other participants so far include Darryl Bruce (Saint Mary's University), Carolyn Harley (MUN), and Ray Klein (Dalhousie University).
All events will be held in the Health Sciences Centre (the hospital and medical centre adjacent to the university).
