Imperial Oil Learning Initiative Goals

Learning Goals

The Imperial Oil Learning Initiative Project began on May 1, 2002. This project included four specific goals:

1. To enhance SGES programs to allow all students to graduate with an integrated theoretical and real world knowledge base in their subject area and sufficient practical experience to confidently apply this knowledge to 'real world' problems and situations.

2. To enhance SGES programs to allow all students to graduate with a comprehensice suite of personal transferalbe skills.

3. To create an educational environment within the SGES that encourages the development of creative and innovative approaches to teaching and learning, fosters continuing communication between students, facult and staff and allows instructors to continually develop their educational skills.

4. To expand cooperation between the SGES and the extrenal community.

Due to the continued dedication and hard work of the Project co-leaders Susan Vajoczki and Dr. Carolyn Eyles, the members of the Steering Committee and the undergraduate assistants, the Imperial Oil Learning has been a great success.
