The School of Geography & Earth Sciences offers an exciting range of graduate research opportunities. The school has world class facilities, a multidisciplinary research environment offering field, laboratory and modeling opportunities, and a highly active graduate student community. The School houses science and social science faculty offering M.A., M.Sc. and Ph.D. Degrees and promotes a culture of research excellence and scholarly achievement. McMaster University also has direct entry to the Ph.D. program from the undergraduate degree for students with the appropriate requirements. Students interested in pursuing graduate studies in the school are encouraged to directly contact possible graduate faculty supervisors prior to applying to the school. There are no formal fields of specialization within the Master degrees, though naturally most of the students tend to follow studies that reflect the Ph.D. fields.
