Program Structure

Integrated Science is a unique, interdisciplinary, research-based science program targeted toward motivated, high achieving students. The four-year, direct entry program takes an exciting new approach to the study of science at the undergraduate level and provides students with the knowledge, skills and tools to excel in their future careers.

A major part of the program, from Level I, centers on supervised inquiry-based learning. The learning experience is heavily project-oriented, rather than course oriented. At all stages, the learning is also interdisciplinary.

In Levels I and II, the curriculum content is taught in a fully integrated way. Essential knowledge and skills from each of the fundamental scientific disciplines are linked partly through ‘thematic modules’ that emphasize the overlapping content between discipline areas. The iSci program culminates with a mandatory Honours Thesis during students fourth year.
