Equivalencies

iSci courses are integrated across several disciplines and so cover some content from single discipline courses. Here you will find a list of topics that are taught in iSci courses, and their related equivalencies to other McMaster Science courses.

Level I

ISCI 1A24 covers some of the content from the following Level I topic areas:

  • Calculus I and II 
  • Introductory Biology and Life Sciences 
  • Introductory Chemistry 
  • Earth and the Environment 
  • Introductory Physics 
  • Introduction to Psychology 

Students are advised to refer to individual course listings to determine when  ISCI 1A24 serves as an appropriate prerequisite.

Level II

ISCI 2A18 covers some of the content from the following Level II topic areas:

  • Introductory Neuroscience 
  • Ecology 
  • Calculus III 
  • Biochemistry 
  • History of the Earth 
  • Thermodynamics.

Students are advised to refer to individual course listings to determine when  ISCI 2A18 serves as an appropriate prerequisite.

Level III - IV

Some Level III and/or IV research methodology/project courses, and Level IV independent studies, inquiry, literature review, and thesis courses may not be open to students in an Honours Integrated Science program. Students are advised to refer to individual course listings for appropriate exclusions.
