Welcome to the Department of Kinesiology at McMaster University!
We offer a B.Sc. Kin. (Honours) degree and thesis-based M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees. Our undergraduate program is direct-entry and takes a multidisciplinary approach to the study of human movement and health from a molecular to whole-body perspective. Students have the opportunity to pursue independent research projects as well as placements that help link classroom knowledge to professional practice. Our graduate program is research intensive and students can pursue basic or applied projects in diverse fields including biomechanics, exercise rehabilitation, health and exercise psychology, motor behaviour and physiology.
Our faculty members are well funded and many hold multiple research grants from various agencies including the Canada Foundation for Innovation, Canadian Institutes of Health Research, Natural Sciences and Research Council of Canada and Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council.
I invite you to explore our website and learn more about our department. Please contact any of our faculty or staff members with questions or comments.
