President 2016 - 2017 Jenny Mahendran
Our McMaster Kinesiology Society is an enthusiastic and highly dedicated team of students that will undoubtedly provide you with a university experience that is nothing less than unforgettable. Academically we act as a voice for student concerns and issues, acting as representatives on various faculty committees and department councils. We are also responsible for organizing various events throughout the year, always striving to incorporate both FUN and SPIRIT into the academic program.
There are many opportunities to meet new people and get involved. Take a look at some of our annual events:
- Mystery road trips
- Holiday Charity
- Karaoke nights
- Ski trips
- Semi formal
- Relay for Life
- Career information nights
- Sporting events
- Heimbecker Cup
Each year the McMaster Kinesiology Society and fellow MACKIN students also participate in the Kinesiology Games, a fun-filled weekend of athletic competition in an attempt to bring home the beloved “shoe”. This event brings together over 600 participants from over a dozen universities from across Canada, and truly is the ultimate university experience.
Over the next 4 years you will have the opportunity to meet so many new people and to enhance your leadership skills for future endeavours. The most important piece of advice that we can offer would be to GET INVOLVED while you can, because the time here certainly does fly by!
Great friendships, challenging courses and friendly professors - our MAC Kinesiology program has lots to offer! We strive to accommodate our first year students in as many ways as possible, and provide constant support in adjusting to life away from home. Choosing to pursue your education at McMaster was definitely a great decision, and we are excited to welcome you to the MACKIN family!
We are here for you, the students, so feel free to drop by our office (IWC 109 ) with questions and suggestions or even just to say hi!
