Health and Safety Training Now Tracked in Mosaic

Mandatory Health & Safety Training

All employees (faculty and staff), students, visitors and volunteers working at McMaster University are required to complete the following health and safety training program before access to labs and other work facilities can be issued:

The following health and safety training courses are Mandatory :

1. ASBESTOS AWARENESS
2. ERGONOMICS
3. FIRE SAFETY
4. SLIPS, TRIPS AND FALLS
5. VIOLENCE AND HARASSMENT
6. WHMIS 2015
7. ADDITIONAL LAB SPECIFIC TRAINING MAY BE REQUIRED. PLEASE CHECK WITH YOUR SUPERVISOR.

To complete Health and Safety Training please log in to MOSAIC.

Once in Mosaic go through the following pathways:

MOSAIC HOME > Regulatory Training > Learning and Development > Request Training Enrollment > Search by Course Name > then view available sessions and proceed with registration. Please disregard the start/end date of online training. These are used for administrative purposes and will not affect registration or course completion.
Wait one business day before the course(s) appear in Avenue to Learn, where one is to complete the safety training.

Log in to Avenue to Learn using one’s MacID and password to complete the safety training that was requested:

After successful completion of course(s), your training record will be updated in Mosaic the following business day. To view the completed training record log in to MOSAIC. Then go through the following pathways:

MOSAIC HOME > Regulatory Training > Training Summary.
Take a screen shot of the Training Summary and send to PNB Administrator, Milica Pavlica email address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Note a $20 refundable deposit is required for keys and access cards.

Lab Specific Training
Additional Safety Training may be required for some of the laboratories and work environments in the Psychology Building. Please check with your supervisor if any of the following training courses are required.
If additional training is required please go to the Environmental and Occupational Health Support Services (EOHSS) website: http://www.workingatmcmaster.ca/eohss/

Note to Faculty:
Please make sure all students and others (paid and unpaid workers) have Lab Specific training prior to getting their keys and card access to the lab facilities.

Animal Safety Training
